Our Story

Bowland Forest Wood Company was established with a singular focus: to craft enduring tables shaped by material integrity and heritage skill.

Based in Northwest England, our workshop works exclusively with solid hardwoods selected for character, structural soundness, and provenance. Each board is traceable from tree to slab, prepared slowly and deliberately to ensure long-term stability. 

We design with the timber, not against it. Natural figure, movement, and live edge define the form. One piece at a time. Without compromise.

Timber with origin and intention. We actively source distinctive hardwoods across the country and internationally, selecting only those with the character and integrity to become one-off pieces.

Resin
Philosophy

In our work, resin exists to frame and elevate the oak rather than dominate it. Tone, depth, and proportion are carefully calibrated, so the river enhances the timber’s natural movement rather than obscuring it. We favour restraint over excess - depth over surface gloss.

The hardwood remains primary. The resin provides contrast and clarity. The outcome is a composition designed for permanence, not fashion.

Each table is shaped in our workshop by craftsmen with decades of experience.

With over thirty years of joinery expertise and an instinctive understanding of timber behaviour, ensuring structural integrity and long-term stability. The finishing is entrusted to our in-house master specialist with more than three decades in high-end finishing, including pieces connected to the Royal Household and privately owned stately homes. His methods produce depth, clarity, and resilience that mature beautifully with age.
